Worship Opportunities At Calvary

Young, old, long time members, new members, kids, youth, families, and visitors all look for different styles of worship. While we can’t have the perfect style for everyone at all times, we do try to offer a variety of worship formats during the month.  Our worship committee strives to offer different approaches to worship during the church year to keep our services fresh, meaningful,worshipful, and seasonal for the many people who share in a corporate worship service at Calvary Lutheran.

Saturday 5:30 Traditional Worship

• Worship with traditional hymns, liturgy, confession and absolution from the new red hymnal. Communion is served every two weeks on the first and third Saturdays of  the month. Special music is limited.
• A smaller group of members enjoy this worship year-round.

Traditional Worship

• Offered at 8:00 morning service each Sunday.
• Worship using the new red hymnal, liturgy, and traditional hymns.
• Communion is served every week alternating between the 8:00 and 10:30 service. 8:00 serves communion on the first and third Sunday and 10:00 is at the second and fourth Sunday.

Praise Worship with Jubilate

• “Jubilate” is the name of Calvary’s Praise Worship Band. The band consists of piano, guitar, violin, drums and various other instruments. Members lead music that varies from traditional, folk, gospel, contemporary and modern hymns.
• Liturgy, and readings are still part of this worship service. Communion is served at the 10:30 service on the second  Sunday of the month.
• This service is offered the first  and second Sunday of the month. It may vary due to the church year worship schedule.
• Praise worship tries to be a bridge between a traditional service and a contemporary service.

Contemporary Worship

• A band consisting of guitar,piano, drum and vocalists lead contemporary praise worship music.
• This worship may not always include traditional liturgy, but includes prayer, readings and messages.
• This style of worship is offered at the 10:30 service on the third Sunday of the month from September to May. Communion is not served at this service.
